I remember the ancient courtyard, some of the things that were said The challenge didn´t feel difficult, when you told me what layed ahead I remember our trips to the country, we were on our way at dawn We used to climb steep mountains. I felt safe facing the unknown ![]() You used simple things as examples, walking through a sheltered dell: The mountain, the tree, the temple - you explained everything so well You used to tell me old stories , of dragons and spirits and gods While looking down at the peak-forest, from that great height in the karst You were never shocked by my being, there was nothing that couldn´t be said Acceptance was your way of living – nothing was shameful or bad The water was strange in your pitcher. Thirsty, I drank – it was truth Sometimes I miss you, teacher. Now I remember this, too.
