It´s not mainstream – to say the least. In fact it´s almost impossible to get hold of, at least from the part of the world, where I live. It´s no use to ask about it in a music store – they ´ve never heard of it. They will give you a strange look and shake their heads no. It´s not much easier to try to buy it from abroad. The very few cds that exist are almost always out of stock. They are often categorized as “New Age” – I don´t know why, because if one asks about them in those circles, the New Age people are as stupefied as the others. “No, sorry. We don´t have anything like that. What do you mean exactly?”.

There are few short clips with it on YouTube, together with few comments. Most people consider it weird. Quite of lot of those who hear it, say it sounds scary to them. Some even claim it sounds hellish. Some other say that perhaps it could be used for meditation.

These sounds are literally out of this world. They come from the stars – as well as from the planets, the moons and the other celestial bodies. And from other galaxies as well. Sound can not be heard in the vacuum of space, but every celestial body emits radiation, which is unique for this particular object. This radiation is then converted to sound, so that people can hear it.

I know of only two sources from which these cds come. The first is dr. Fiorella Terenzi, who has recorded sounds from a distant galaxy in the direction of Coma Berenices. The other source is NASA.

For the great majority of those who hear it, it´s just too strange for their liking. Many people say it gives them the creeps. Some have tried to use it in connection to Halloween. Some others have even said, that it sounded like screams from hell (about the sounds of Saturn).

But for a very small group of people, the encounter with these sounds is a very special experience, which has a strange effect on them. They don´t need to use them for meditation or on Halloween, they don´t need to use them for anything in particular. Just hearing them is more than enough. When they listen, something deep inside them becomes wide awake and electrified and starts to stir up memories – memories they didn´t know existed, memories as old as time. The sounds, so alien and paradoxically – strangely familiar, break through a layer after layer of their personality and to the very essence of their identity and wake up something – something that once awaken, will never want to sleep again.

Perhaps not surprisingly, these sounds – the sounds of the Universe, are not unlike the sounds of human brain waves…
